Putting up random products on your skin, even following a routine but not following basic steps and tips won’t help with glowing skin.

The essential skincare tips for healthy and glowing skin requires very basic attention to the ongoing routine to achieve prominent results. Lets talk about how can you take your current routine and escalate that to achieve a glowing skin

  1. Cleansing- Cleansing is such an important part of skincare routine that shouldn’t be skipped in any case. Cleansing also depends on the skin and its type. Usually it is recommended to use a gentle and soap free cleanser which is non comedogenic and doesn’t rip off the hydration of the skin. If you use makeup or cleansing after makeup, do a double cleanse, which is to remove makeup first with micellar water or makeup remover and then clean the face with a simple cleanser or best face wash for acne and pimples. This will help in reducing the risk of acne and pore clogging. Try to cleanse your face twice daily which will remove excess oil and dirt from your face and make it glowy and even.

  2. Exfoliate regularly- Regular exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells, promoting a smoother and more radiant complexion. Using a gentle exfoliating scrub once (or max twice) a week is very efficient in deep cleaning the skin as it exfoliates the dirt, dead skin cells and excess oil from the skin. Make sure you don't over exfoliate your skin as it can damage the natural skin barrier and cause irritation on skin.If using chemical exfoliant, use the one containing alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) as this can improve skin texture and enhance the absorption of other skincare products. If you are new to chemical exfoliation, go for the lightest exfoliator as the other might be too harsh and can cause irritation and burns on the skin.

  3. Sunscreen application- Sunscreen is the most important step of any skincare routine. Without it, cleansers, serums, and moisturisers can't work as effectively. As it not only helps in sun protection but also locks in the product and creates a perfect barrier between makeup and skincare. The sun’s Ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause premature ageing, dark spots, and an increased risk of skin cancer. Be sure to use a sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and apply it every day before heading outdoors.Reapply throughout the day as needed and if you’re going to be spending a lot of time outside, opt for a vitamin c sunscreen with an SPF 50 or higher.

  4. Moisturize- After cleansing, Moisturizing your skin is a must as it hydrates the skin and calms it down . Keeping the face moisturized may help control sebum production and prevent damage from the outside elements. The most effective moisturizer will vary in each case, depending on the person’s skin type. Anyone uncertain of what moisturizers will work for them should contact a dermatologist. Some types they may recommend include oil-free moisturizers and moisturizers that are noncomedogenic, which means that they do not clog the pores. Use a lightweight moisturizer that blends in easily.

  5. Gentle product usage- Gentle products can be kinder to the skin, particularly if it is sensitive. Toner, astringent and other such harsh things are in the market but they do have gentle, hypoallergenic versions. However, it is still important to test a small area of skin for reactions before applying any product to a more extensive area. Tools such as washcloths, rough sponges, or loofahs may be too rough for the skin, causing damage and irritation. Some more gentle options exist, such as soft cleansing brushes. Alternatively, using clean fingers to massage a cleanser into the face may help prevent extra irritation. It is important to ensure brushes and sponges are clean, as bacteria can cause further irritation or breakouts.

These simple steps can not only elevate your skincare game but also will help to achieve glowing skin much faster and efficiently.
